Chrysotile I have a piece of chrysotile from the open pit asbestos mine in Therford Mines, Quebec, near where my mother was born. It was a gift from my grandfather. The mine is closed on account of a high incidence of lung cancer (asbestosis) among the minors. I named this pattern in his memory.
